The League of Women Voters of California has a new web site providing general voter information as well as specific material about the Primary Election.
The deadline for registering to vote in this election is May 24, 2010. See our Voter Information page for more details.
Partisan registered voters can only vote for candidates within their party. Non-partisan registered voters may choose to vote for some candidates from one of the following two political parties: Democratic or Republican.
- There will be 5 propositions on the ballot. Our state League has made recommendations about two of these propositions.
- The following information about candidates is limited to those in our League area. Names in parentheses are the current incumbents. Detailed information about all candidates is available at Smart Voter and Project Vote Smart.
- Seats in the House of Representatives for Districts 26 (Dreier), 29 (Schiff) and 32 (Chu) will be on the ballot. A Senate seat (Boxer) will be on the ballot.
- The office of governor and the other state constitutional offices will be on the ballot.
- Seats in the State Assembly for Districts 44 (Portantino), 49 (Eng) and 59 (Adams), and in the State Senate seats for District 22 (Cedillo) and 24 (Romero) will be on the ballot.
